Aquarians exhibit at library

The November art exhibit at the Great Bend Public Library is a group effort by "The Aquarians": Mary Lee Adams, Esther Maher, Elaine Pugh, Bev Simonson and Barb Unrein. These Great Bend artists have filled the Fine Arts Room of the library with a fall showing of paintings, ceramics and jewelry. The public is invited to meet the artists during a reception from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the library.

Six Hondas stolen from storage

Crime Stoppers of Barton County and Great Bend is seeking information on the theft of six Honda motorcycles and a Honda snowblower from a storage shed at 901 Morphy St. in Great Bend. Police Chief Dean Akings reports that storage unit 712 at that address was broken into twice between Aug. 24 and Oct. 30. Two padlocks were damaged.

Ruby L. North 1929 - 2011

ELLINWOOD/BALDWIN CITY - Ruby North, 82, died Oct. 30 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1929 at Cookeville, Tenn. the daughter of Marion Grider and Elizabeth Dunham Grider.
