ATHENS, Ga. - Patricia G. Davison, 60, of Athens, Ga., passed away Aug. 5, 2012. She was born in Great Bend, the daughter of the late Dale and Louise Corn Helsel. Mrs. Davison was a secretary/treasurer with Top Doc's Inc., in Alpharetta, Ga. and attended Redstone United Methodist Church, in Jefferson, Ga.

Crime Stoppers of Barton County and Great Bend accepts anonymous tips that may help solve crimes or recover stolen property. On Saturday, Oct. 4, just after midnight, Great Bend Police officers responded to an alarm at L&M Contractors on K-96. A garage door was found open, and it was determined a Stihl chain saw, chop saw, chipping hammer, transit, angle grinder and a 14-inch saw were stolen. Loss was $6,700.

The Rosewood Rodeo turns a decade old this month. The annual event, which showcases horse riding abilities of people with developmental disabilities, originated in the fall of 2005 at the Indoor Riding Arena at Rosewood Ranch. Several years later, the event was moved to Great Bend Expo III, to accommodate the increased number of riders, family and other spectators who traditionally participate in daylong activities.
