She was friends with a bossy but politically connected pig, a groveling sheep who worked as a flunky for the village and a scared little mouse who specialized in running away and hiding. Hey. Mosquito spraying continues Thursday night and next week

Shafer Art Gallery introduces “Art Chats” discussion series

The Shafer Art Gallery will begin a new series of learning sessions entitled "Art Chats," beginning next week at the gallery, located in the Fine Arts Building at Barton Community College. The first program, "Ladies of the Rococo: Belles of the French Court," will be presented from noon to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20. It will be led by Shafer Gallery Director Dave Barnes.

Marcia C. McIntyre

RAYTOWN, Mo. - Marcia C. McIntyre, 71, passed away Aug. 3. After years of moving around with the Air Force, she and her husband settled in Raytown, Mo., where she eventually retired from DST Systems. She moved to Dayton in January, 2012.
