Rape suspect arrested

The Barton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of a juvenile being raped, somewhere in the vicinity of Hart's Corner. A deputy and three Great Bend police officers were dispatched to the Central Kansas Medical Center Emergency Room at 5:11 p.m. Sunday, where the girl's father reported she had been raped.

Ellsworth woman dies in I-70 collision

An Ellsworth woman died in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday at the Hedville Road intersection with Interstate 70 in Saline County. Mary A. Donley, 82, was taken to Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina. The other driver, 18-year-old Austin Shane Nelson, 18, of Salina, was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts. ST. JOHN - Genevieve Scalzi Hull, 75, died Jan. 1 at her home in St. John. She was born Apr. 25, 1935, in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of Giovani Batist and Caroline (Santel) Scalzi. Robert L. "Bob" Bader, 78, died Jan. 4 in his home at Great Bend. He was born June 7, 1932, in Osborne County, the son of Fredrick Robert and Addie Mae (Clemans) Bader. He married Joan Habiger Sept. 1, 1955, at Hoisington. He was a commercial salesman for Becker Tire and Treading, Great Bend, for 50 years. Judy Mershon Huber Wolfenbarger 1935 - 2013

MINNESOTT BEACH, N.C. - Judy Mershon Huber Wolfenbarger, 77, of Minnesott Beach, N.C., passed away June 4. Born in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 4, 1935, she was the daughter of Andrew B. and Dorothy Mershon Huber. Her family moved to Mt. Carroll, Ill., in 1942.
