Zeta Gamma Sorority had their first meeting of the year on Sept. 13 at St. Rose Atrium. The program, given by Ranjan Sachdev, gave the members an awareness of how to maintain a healthy mind and body. Plans were made for the Rush Party. Cake mixes were collected for Mrs. Prossers class at Lincoln elementary school. This is the 31st year for this project. Zeta Gamma's Rush party was held at The Rack. This was a couples party and well attended.

TOPEKA (AP) - Kansas' highest court Friday overturned the death sentence of a man convicted of capital murder in connection with the killings a decade ago of a Great Bend woman and her boyfriend after she'd witnessed a robbery.
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - Robert Norman Alpers, 79, died May 31, in Hendersonville, N.C. A service will be held at Peace Church, 492 NE 140th Street, in Hudson, at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 25, with burial to follow. After the burial, family and friends are invited to a meal at Wheatland Café for visiting and reminiscing.
With Barack Obama's approval ratings getting dragged down by a floundering foreign policy, we might miss one of his biggest successes in a place no one expected-Iran. Whether we extend the interim anti-nuke deal or reach a longer-term agreement to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, Obama has backed our enemy into a corner. But fans of cynicism, failure, and partisanship should take heart, because there's still time for congress to turn what should be a win-win for the United States into yet another loss.
