ELLINWOOD - Bank of the West today announced that Freddy Gunn Jr. has been named Bank of the West assistant vice president and branch manager. In his role, Gunn is responsible for the overall operations, customer service, performance and profitability of the branch, as well as community outreach activities. The Barton County Sheriff's Office responded to a possible injury accident at 1:05 a.m. Monday on K-4, about 1 mile west of the K-4/U.S. 281 junction, or half a mile east of NW 50 Ave. Although a 2008 Ford F-150 slid off the snow-packed highway and rolled 1.5 times, everyone was wearing seat belts and they were not injured.

Place orders by Feb. 25 and the fruit will arrive in late March or early April. Available are Marion blackberries, red raspberries, boysenberries, blueberries, strawberries which are sliced and sugared, strawberries whole without sugar, loganberries, red pie cherries, dark sweet cherries, peaches, apricots, apples and red rhubarb. Also available are freezer jam and purees.
