Pioli: Chiefs are making progress during odd training camp

Lester W. Miller 1924 - 2011

Lester W. Miller, 87, died Aug. 8, at Fairbury, Neb. Born on Jan. 6, 1924 in Fairbury, Neb., he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Koch) Miller. He attended school at Morrowville and graduated in 1941. After high school, he farmed with his father north of Morrowville. Lester was also part owner in the Corner Café for several years. On Dec. 29, 1945, he was united in marriage to Agnes L'Ecuyer. She preceded him in death. He was an upstanding community member. He loved playing baseball, playing until he was 36 years old. He liked to do carpentry ...

One vehicle wreck occurs

A one vehicle wreck occurred in the 300 block of north Washington, Great Bend, at 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle was south bound on Washington when it lost control, entered the east ditch backwards, striking the culvert and then rolling onto its top, according to a news release by the Barton County Sheriff's office.
