Kansas gas prices starting to climb

Average retail gasoline prices in Kansas have risen 2.0 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.60 per gallon on Monday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 1,329 gas outlets in Kansas. This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.3 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.59, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Vehicles collide on county road

Roxanna Lee (Finch) Schneider 1953 - 2013

Roxanna Lee (Finch) Schneider died Aug. 30 at her home in Great Bend. She was born Oct. 29, 1953, at Hays, to Robert M. and Betty Jean (Rubendall) Finch. Roxie was a graduate of Hays High School and also had a Fine Arts degree and at one time was an adjunct professor of design at Fort Hays State University. She was an associate, American Society of Interior Designers.

LARNED - Michael Allan Wilkerson, 31, died Sept. 9 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. Born April 15, 1982, at Larned, he was the son of Alan Wilkerson and Patricia Plotner. A longtime area resident, he worked in the oil field and was a roughnecker. He was of the Christian faith.
