City wide 6th grade banc concert

The annual City Wide 6th grade band concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Great Bend High School Gym. Participating elementary schools are Eisenhower, Jefferson, Lincoln, Park, Riley, Central Kansas Christian Academy and Holy Family School. The public is invited to attend.

Grace Denman will celebrate her 101st birthday with a card shower. Grace was born on April 23, 1912, in Pueblo, Colo. She moved to Scott City at the age of 2 where she grew up. She moved to California and then to Great Bend where she has been a resident for the past 25 years.

Taylor Klug graduates from Federal Regulatory Compliance Course

Taylor Klug, Vice President for First Kansas Bank, graduated from the 2013 Bank Compliance School held in Topeka. The Bank Compliance School is sponsored by the Kansas Bankers Association and Nebraska Bankers Association. It is designed to provide compliance and audit personnel with information about all federal regulations covered in an onsite compliance exam by Federal Regulatory Agencies. Attendees were also provided with reference materials and techniques to assist their bank in complying with extensive federal and state regulations.

USD 428, Holy Family, Central Kansas Christian Academy and HeadStart Schools

The following meals will be served April 15 through April 19. The secondary schools also have available daily: Main dish second choices, chef's salad, combo lunches and choice of vegetables and dessert. The breakfast menu is offered only to students in USD 428. Menus are subject to change without notice. Milk served with all meals. All meals as offered meet USDA nutritional guidelines.
