Billy Conrad Smith 1941-2012

CENTENNIAL, COLO. - Billy Conrad Smith, 71, died Dec. 27, at his daughters home in Centennial, Colo. Born April 25, 1941, in Great Bend, he was the son of Raymond H. and Juanita M. Woelk Smith. A longtime resident of Larned, he moved to Centennial, Colo., to be close to family. He was a retired Occupational Therapist at Larned State Hospital and was a graduate at Barton County Community College, Great Bend. He belonged to Grace Lutheran Church.

On Oct. 30, 1944, she married Albert Wood at Tonopah, Nev. He died on July 26, 1978. In Nov. 1994 she married Edwin Graf. He died Aug. 19, 2010. She was a homemaker.

Barton women lose tennis match with Cowley

HESSTON- In the final tune-up match for the Region VI Championships, the Barton Community College women's tennis team did not have the success it would have liked. In fact it was another day of fighting injuries for the Cougars as they lost to nationally ranked Cowley College 8-1.

W. “Fritz” Waymaster 1927 - 2015

RUSSELL - W. "Fritz" Waymaster, 87, died on April 12, 2015, at the Russell Regional Hospital. Born on July 30, 1927, in rural Bunker Hill, he was the son of David J. and Anna E. (Steinle) Waymaster. He grew up in the Bunker Hill area and started school there as well. Later he moved and finished his basic education in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in 1945.
