Library announces movies, membership drive

Great Bend Public Library, 1409 Williams St., will show "Red Dawn" at 4 p.m. Monday, April 1, for Teen Movie Monday, open to students in grades 7-12.

After 30 years as a new and used sale representative with Dove Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Rick Bussman has announced his retirement. Congressman Huelskamp Meets with Local Leaders from Great Bend

WASHINGTON, DC – Last week, Congressman Tim Huelskamp visited with Howard Partington (City Administrator, Great Bend), Allene Owen (City Council, City of Great Bend) and Jon Prescott (CPI, Qualified Plan Consultants). Among other topics, they discussed immigration, rural housing, and transportation. Congressman Huelskamp said.

Mara Ellen Gillespie 1988 - 2013

CHASE - Mara Ellen Gillespie, 24, died March 24 at her residence in Chase. Born Sept. 15, 1988 in Great Bend she was the daughter of Geneil Ellen Gillespie. In 2007, she graduated from Chase Rural High School. She graduated from Barton Community College with a CNA degree. A lifelong resident of Chase she was a CNA and CMA and a restaurant cook.

CLAFLIN - The governing body of the City of Claflin met in regular session, Monday, March 11, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the city building. Present were: Mayor Michael Urban, Councilpersons Kirk Schneweis, Kelly Nixon, Casey Hubbard and Leon Oberle.
