GBCT announces auditions

Christmas may just be over, but members of Great Bend Community Theatre are making plans for Valentine's Day. Auditions for the next GBCT production, "Enchanted April" by Matthew Barber, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, and 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the Crest Theater. Performance dates are Feb. 14 - 17.

Barton Community College honors Outstanding Graduates at commencement

Kami Maxwell of Odin and Ambonirina Nathanael Razafindrabe of Antananarvio, Madagascar were named Barton Community College's 2015 Outstanding Graduates. Dean of Student Services Angie Maddy introduced them and presented their awards, after which they took the opportunity to address their fellow graduates during the college's 45th commencement ceremony Friday.

​Sunflower Electric Power Corp. hires new technician

Sunflower Electric Power Corporation announced that Kevin Brabb has joined the company as a Telecommunications Technician in Great Bend. He joined the company on May 11. Brabb will install, test, inspect, calibrate and repair electronic equipment. He will also diagnose telecommunications problems and interpret manufacturer's drawings and instructions, and will perform corrective and preventive maintenance as required.
