This edition of Marsh Musings is different from all previous editions. A couple of major changes have occurred. Eric Giesing, my cohort in this endeavor, has taken another job. He is going to work for a promote their pharmaceutical company. He is thrilled at the opportunity, and sad to leave KWEC. On April 20-22, Faith Community Church will host the Great Bend Healing Campaign. The citywide event will kick off Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m. with a night of Praise and Prayer. At 10 a.m. on Saturday morning a healing school will be held. Healing and miracle services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday and at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday. The public is invited to attend, Pastor Sandy Kennedy said.
Presbyterian Women in Great Bend will offer a Fair Trade Market to the community on Saturday, April 21.
At their January meeting, 15 members of Great Bend Garden Club received a wealth of information about the work of a small group of people working hard for the betterment of Great Bend. Garden Club member Toni Rice is also a member of the Great Bend Tree Board and during her recent program Toni enthusiastically told the history of the Tree Board and of Great Bend's status as a Tree City USA.
HAYS - "The Waters of Kansas - Cheyenne Bottoms," the first film in a series of short documentaries on water in Kansas by the Kansas Natural Resource Council, will be screened at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, 10 miles northeast of Great Bend on K-156.
