​Parking lot burglary results in estimated $4,000 loss

Great Bend Police are investigating a vehicular burglary that occurred Wednesday in the Walmart parking lot. Detective David Bailey said the victim estimated the loss at $4,000, including a $2,000 pair of eyeglasses. The thief took a small bag that contained the glasses, a $1,400 hearing aid and front dentures. The face plate on the stereo was also stolen.

Kami Maxwell of Odin and Ambonirina Nathanael Razafindrabe of Antananarvio, Madagascar were named Barton Community College's 2015 Outstanding Graduates. Sunflower Electric Power Corporation announced that Kevin Brabb has joined the company as a Telecommunications Technician in Great Bend. He joined the company on May 11. Brabb will install, test, inspect, calibrate and repair electronic equipment.
