​Norbert J. “Bones” Prosser 1930 - 2016

ODIN - Norbert J. "Bones" Prosser, 85, died Jan. 18, 2016, at Via Christi Village - Hays, in Hays. Born Feb. 10, 1930, in Beaver, he was the son of Joseph and Ella (Ficker) Prosser. On Sept. 8, 1955, he married Frances Werner in Odin. A lifetime resident of Odin, he was a farmer and rancher. His past careers include welding, tank truck service, oilfield driller and dirt construction. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper and collector of priceless memorabilia. He took great pride in founding the Prosser Arena and had a passion for planting shelter belts.

Felicita M. Weichen 1913 - 2016

LA CROSSE - Felicita M. "Fritzie" Weichen, 102, died Jan. 18, 2016, at Locust Grove Village in La Crosse. Born Aug. 23, 1913, in Fairview Township, Rush County, she was the daughter of Alex and Mary (Werth) Munsch. On Dec. 25, 1935, she married Norval "Nib" Weichen at Bison. He preceded her in death May 25, 1960. A resident of Rush County for 84 years, moving from Schoenchen, she was a homemaker.

Winter weather advisory posted

WICHITA -- Areas east and south of Barton County are part of a winter weather advisory Tuesday. Winter weather will impact the south central Kansas region through the evening hours, with a mix of light freezing drizzle and light snow. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches will be confined to portions of Nebraska, northeast Kansas and central to northern Missouri. Meanwhile, light ice accumulations will create slick travel conditions through the evening.

​Bonnie Elaine Fuller 1934 - 2016

ELLSWORTH - Bonnie Elaine Fuller, 81, died Jan. 16, 2016, at Good Samaritan Village, Ellsworth. She was born Feb. 13, 1934, in rural Geneseo, Galt Township, the daughter of Richard and Velma Orm Crane. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1951. She married Clarence H. Fuller on Feb. 7, 1959, at Wichita. He died Sept. 26, 1997. She was a school bus driver for Circle USD 375, retiring after 25 years. A longtime resident of El Dorado, she had also resided in Great Bend and Ellsworth.

Elizabeth Zorn 1927 - 2016

CLAFLIN - Elizabeth Zorn, 88, died Jan. 16, 2016, at Lakepoint Assisted Living, Augusta. She was born Oct. 29, 1927, in rural Barton County, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Hoffman) Tinkel. On May 10, 1948, she married Leonard Zorn in Dubuque, Kansas. He died June 18, 2010. A lifetime Barton County resident (2010), she worked in the lunch program at USD 354, Claflin, for 30 years, retiring in 1991.
