Barton Blazers record second place at Hays

The fifth-grade Barton Blazers, coached by Troy Griffith, Chris Ryan and Clint Brown, placed second at the Hays Big Brothers/Big Sisters MAYB Basketball Tournament last Saturday. Boehner, Netanyahu Helping Iran

What would it look like if politics stopped at the water's edge? It wouldn't look like the mess that John Boehner created by inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a session of Congress on March 3. By allowing Netanyahu to stage what is effectively a campaign event in the U.S. Capitol, congressional Republicans have not only damaged our relations with Israel but threatened our diplomatic negotiations with Iran.

Ella Marie Steitz 1934 - 2015

BISON - Ella Marie Steitz was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Bison in Rush County, the daughter of Jacob and Ella (Schaumburg) Scheuerman. She was adopted and raised by her parents, Constain and Florence (Scheuerman) Steitz. She graduated from Bison High School in 1952 and attended Fort Hays College. After living in Denver, Colo. for 31 years, she retired from Shell Chemical and returned to Bison in 1988.
