HUTCHINSON - C. Jo Daniel, 76, died Dec. 2, at her home in Hutchinson. Born Sept. 16, 1937, in Wilson County, she was the daughter of Joseph Henry and Mildred Alice (Ransopher) Allen. She graduated from Chanute High School. She retired as a retail clerk.
HUDSON - Alvin Albert Brensing, 97, died Dec. 3 at Thorn Care Center Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. He was born Nov. 14, 1916 on a farm northwest of Hudson in Stafford County. He was the son of Edward and Dena (Mindrup) Brensing, the youngest of their children. He started school at Clarksburg Country School going on to attend and graduate from Hudson High School in 1934. LARNED - Janet Y. Murphy, 66, died Dec. 5 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned. Born Nov. 24, 1947, in Compton, Calif., she was the daughter of Hubert and Lu Disney Hanes. On Sept. 9, 1967, she married Robert R. Smyth at Winfield. He died Dec. 5, 1992. On Nov. 27, 1993, she married Melvin M. Murphy Jr. at Larned. He survives. A longtime area resident, she was a program technician at the FSA office in Larned.
Ruth E. (Beardsley) Parker, 86, of Great Bend, and formerly of New York, N.Y., passed away on Sunday morning, Dec. 1, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born April 26, 1927, in Auburn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Theodore R. and Ruth E. (Burden) Beardsley. On Aug. 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Donald H. Parker at Skaneateles, N.Y. The couple made their home in Syracuse, N.Y. Prior to her retirement she became interested in genealogy and worked on her ancestry for over 35 years. David Nichols, 30, of Hoisington was seriously injured Wednesday in a rollover accident on West K-4 near NW 100 Ave. According to the Barton County Sheriff's Office, Nichols was driving a Ford F-250 truck that slid on a patch of ice around 6:26 a.m. The truck slid into the ditch and rolled, ejecting the driver.
