Sunflower Bank donates more than $4,400 to Great Bend schools and students

In its 10th year, Sunflower Bank's ABC: Be True to our Schools program resulted in the greatest donation total in program history, including $4,489 to Great Bend area schools and students.

The following meals will be served May 9 through May 13 The secondary schools also have available daily: Main dish second choices, chef's salad, combo lunches and choice of vegetables and dessert. The breakfast menu is offered only to students in USD 428. Menus are subject to change without notice. Milk served with all meals. All meals as offered meet USDA nutritional guidelines.

Apathy is a problem with many homeowners' associations, but at the annual meeting of the Hillbrook-Tall Oaks Civic Association of Annandale, Va., 50 people sleepily voted for Ms. Beatha Lee as president, thus electing (in a legitimate, by-the-book process) a Wheaten terrier belonging to former association officer Mark Crawford.

Shafer Gallery exhibits Sandzén and Prairie Print Makers

In 1894, Birger Sandzén arrived at Bethany College in Lindsborg to teach languages and assist in the art and vocal music departments. He remained at Bethany for the remainder of his career, becoming the principal art instructor in 1899 and retiring in 1946. Throughout this period, and after he retired as Professor Emeritus, he was a prolific painter and print maker until his death in 1954.
