WICHITA - Randall Eugene Oliver, 89, passed away March 11 at Lakewood Senior Living Center in Wichita. He was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Madison, the son of Willis Monroe and Amy Freelove Holland Oliver. He graduated from Madison High School in 1939. He retired from the U. S. Navy and had served during World War II in the Pacific.
The Soroptimist Club of Great Bend recently awarded two local women with $500 scholarships in recognition of their efforts to better their lives and give back to the community. "There are two different types of scholarships that Soroptimists award each year," said club President Jennie Gordy. "In addition to the many charitable activities our club takes part in each year, this is one of the ways we support local women."
