Justin J. Urban 1935 - 2012

LACROSSE - Justin J. Urban, 77, died Sept. 4 at Rush County Memorial Hospital in La Crosse. Born Jan. 12, 1935, in Bison, he was the son of Wendelin and Rose Mary (Leiker) Urban. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. Attaining his GED from Barton County Community College in 1980, he was a plumber for Marlette Coach Company in Great Bend before his retirement. On May 8, 1976, he married Mary A. Pechanec at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Timken.

Leroy Eugene Borron 1927 — 2012

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Leroy E. Borron, 84, former Great Bend resident, died at his home with family at his side on July 21. Born Sept. 11, 1927 in Jennings, Okla., he was the son of Everett and Lucille (Harp) Borron. He attended school in Hoisington. On Aug. 15, 1950, he married Dorothy Ann Deines of Hoisington, in Hoisington. They had four children. He worked in the oil production industry, sold real estate and was an insurance salesman for Farmers Insurance. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family at the lake.

Virginia “Gini” I. Sharp

Virginia "Gini" I. Sharp, 83, retired secretary, homemaker, and owner of Wheat Weaving Creations, passed away Aug. 31. Gini was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church est. in 1955, actively serving in many different capacities. She was founder of the Wichita Wheat Weavers' Guild and past president of the National Association of Wheat Weavers. She was also past president of the Roger Williams Association of the American Baptist Women's Ministries and editor for the Association for the past 12 years. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter GE.

LARNED - Mary Beth Herrmann, 59, died on Feb. 18, at Diversicare of Larned. Born Feb. 23, 1955, in Kinsley, she was the daughter of Quentin J. and Lucy W. Tholen Herrmann. She graduated from Barton County Community College with an A.A. in Nursing and from Barclay College with a B.S. in Business Administration.
