In the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference opener, the Barton Community College softball team swept Colby on Wednesday at Cougar Field.
A frustrating season for the Barton Community College volleyball team came to an end Sunday in the opening round of the Region VI Championships. Barton's season ended with a 24-26, 25-18, 25-16, 25-15 loss to Colby at the Sports Arena in Hutchinson.
DeleteSaturday produced a very good win for the Barton Community College men's basketball team – a win over a Top 20 team. Friday, though, kept the Cougars from a perfect weekend and a 4-0 start to the season.

Bids for a new dining hall at Barton Community College's Camp Aldrich conference center will be presented to the BCC Board of Trustees this week. A special meeting has been set for 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the Administrative Building's Conference Room, A-113, so that Dean of Administration Mark Dean can present these bids.
Brenna Martin, senior piano major at Wichita State University, will give her senior piano recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel as part of the Barton Music Department's Visiting Artist Series.
PARADISE - A Victoria man was injured in a one-car accident at 11:15 a.m. Saturday in Russell County, 1 mile west of Paradise.
HOISINGTON - A stabbing victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita Sunday and a suspect is in jail.
The Governor's Water Conference is to be held Wednesday, Nov. 12 and Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Hilton Garden Inn and Conference Center, 410 S. 3rd Street in Manhattan. At 9:15 a.m. n Wednesday, Governor Sam Brownback will address the progress made on his call to action last year at the conference for a 50-Year Vision for meeting Kansas water supply current and future needs.

Sunflower Bank has promoted Jordan Klima to Loan Operations Assistant. In this capacity, Klima will be making consumer loans and supporting commercial loan functions in the Great Bend and Ellinwood communities. Prior to the promotion, Klima was a Customer Service Representative.
