Pilot Club brings BrainMinders program to Great Bend

The Pilot Club of Great Bend recently brought to the area schools an award-winning program designed to educate the public on avoiding brain injuries.

USD 428 Board of Education meeting

Unified School District 428 Board of Education will meet at noon on Tuesday at Riley Elementary School, 1515 10th Street. Items on the agenda include approval of Great Bend Middle School Booster Club contribution. Riley Elementary School Principal JoAnn Blevins and other staff members will share information regarding the academic programs and the school improvement efforts at Riley School.

Busy Buzzer 4-H Club

The Busy Buzzer 4-H club had their installation of new officers meeting on Oct. 21. It was held at the Long's Pumpkin Patch. After the meeting the club enjoyed gourd launching and picking out pumpkins from the pumpkin field. Debes Reunion

The families of the 13 children of Alois and Hattie (Habiger) Debes gathered for dinner at the Hudson Community Center in Hudson recently for a reunion. The Wheatland Café catered a delicious meal. Activities included the taking of family pictures, looking at older family pictures from years ago and visiting. Prizes were given for the oldest and youngest family members present. The oldest person was 84 years old and the youngest was 3 years old. Hostesses were Anita Ellison, Shirley Lytle and Marylin Hitz. Get well wishes were sent to Don Rief and Tom Lytle.
