Dorothy "Dot" Burt, 97, died Nov. 15 at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson. She was born August 19, 1916, in Navarre, the daughter of Harvey Gamon and Emma (Rhodes) Wingerd. Dorothy graduated from Chapman High School 1934 and then Emporia State College in 1939, where she was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha.
Matt Hiss of Hiss Sherman Wealth Management announced he will donate half of his commissions to charity during the "Take Care of Your Loved Ones and Community" insurance drive. Hiss said he hopes the drive will become an annual event that supports local charities, while helping individuals take care of their family's financial future.
