Rodger D. Love Sr., 63, died June 4 at River Bend Assisted Living, Great Bend. He was born June 21, 1947, at Stafford, the son of Gerald and Wanda (Ritter) Love. He was a graduate of Barton Community College. A Great Bend resident since 1965, coming from Larned, he was a delivery driver for UPS for 26 years.
Deloris M. Steuri-McDowell, 82, died June 3, at home in Great Bend. She was born April 27, 1929, at Redwing, the daughter of Edward E. and Mary (Feltes) Klusener. She married Robert "Bob" McDowell July 18, 1951, at Great Bend. They later divorced and she married Orren Steuri Jan. 4, 1967, at Great Bend. He died August 15, 1977. She then re-married Robert McDowell. He died July 7, 2005.
BRENTWOOD, CALIF. - Jeanne Scott Morin Glaeser lost a brief battle with cancer on June 1. She was born Oct. 19, 1934, in San Jose, Calif., the daughter of Lucile and Leroy "Scotty" Scott. Jeanne was a resident of Brentwood, Calif., and a former resident of San Jose, Calif. She graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1952 and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1959, she married Maurice Morin in San Jose, Calif. They divorced. She was employed by various companies including Lamplighter Reality, Summit Industrial Equipment, and Memorex.
ELLINWOOD - Chad W. Henkle, 37, died June 2, at Ellinwood District Hospital. Born April 25, 1974, in Great Bend, he was the son of Robert Henkle and Karen Rehme Herrenbruck. He attended Ellinwood High School. An Ellinwood resident for the past 25 years, formerly of St. John, he was employed by Pawnee County Co-op as the ag fertilizer terminal manager in Ellinwood. On April 30, 1999, he married Denise Dietz in Great Bend.

CLAFLIN - B. Ruth Wheeler, 77, died June 3 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend. Born July 28, 1933, at Austin, Minn., she was the daughter of David Quincy and Helen Dorothy Stephens. A longtime resident of Claflin, she was a retired CNA at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood, and a former owner of the Claflin Tavern.

The Fuller Brush Company announced Thursday that Ellen Moran has been promoted to the position of chief financial officer, effective May 2. In her new position, Moran is responsible for the administration of all corporate finance and accounting functions. A rural Hoisington man who collided with a deer while driving a motorcycle on the Cheyenne Bottoms blacktop last Friday was listed in critical condition Monday at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
