William John "Bill" Berchek Jr., 67, passed away on May 2, at his home near Great Bend. Born on July 29, 1947, in Pueblo, Colo. he was the son of William John Berchek Sr. and Evelyn Caroline Gordon. He received his associates degree from Barton County Community College and used it in a wide variety of areas. He worked for 30 years as a Conductor for Union Pacific Railroad as well as in real estate and farming. He was a lifetime resident of Barton County.
