Lenten Luncheon: First UMC

'Journey of the Universe' to be shown Friday

Dominican Sisters of Peace will show the motion picture "Journey of the Universe" at 6:15 p.m. Friday, March 22, in the auditorium of the Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway Ave. A freewill donation is requested. Stand for persecuted Christians

I have been watching the efforts the American Center For Law and Justice (ACLJ) to get Pastor Saeed Abedini released from prison in Iran. This process has been going on since Pastor Saeed's arrest for being a Christian. He is a naturalized American citizen, yet the State Department and the Administration has done nothing to secure his release.

Central Kansas Dream Center aiming to bring bicyclists together

Central Kansas Dream Center (CKDC) is interested in creating a community bike rental program that would promote a healthier community and bring people together, and CKDC Executive Director Kimberly Becker and many others are excited about the possibilities. With the efforts being made on Great Bend's walking and biking paths, more residents will be encouraged to walk and ride but may need a bicycle.
