'Sister Moon' to be shown at convent

Dominican Sisters of Peace will show the 1972 motion picture "Sister Moon" at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, in the auditorium of the Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway Ave. A freewill donation is requested. Refreshments and discussion will follow the movie.

Claflin UMC to hold Groundhog Pancake Supper

Ellinwood soup sampler announced

ELLINWOOD - Ellinwood Knights of Columbus will have a soup sampler from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 27 at the St. Joseph Parish Center, 110 W. 2nd St. Several varieties of soup will be available to sample for a freewill donation. Meal includes dessert and drink. Proceeds go to K of C Scholarship Fund.

Clean Line planning open houses

HOUSTON – Clean Line Energy Partners is hosting two weeks of public open house meetings in Kansas inviting community members and landowners to learn about the Grain Belt Express Clean Line transmission project. During these meetings, Clean Line staff members will discuss potential routing options for the high voltage direct current electric transmission line project and provide the public an opportunity to provide feedback.

The Barton County Association of Churches will offer a prayer service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan., 20 at the First Presbyterian Church. The church is located at 24th and Washington St. in Great Bend. Each pastor in the 38 churches in Great Bend has received an invitation, and sponsors hope to have at least one representative from every church.
