Angela Broaderway, PharmD, recently accepted the position of part-time Pharmacy Director at Ellsworth County Medical Center (ECMC). Angela will begin her duties at ECMC Oct. 1, and comes to the medical center with a great deal of enthusiasm and education. A native of Kirksville, Mo., Broaderway moved with her family to Larned several years ago. She is a graduate of Larned High School, Fort Hays State University and a 2001 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. Great Bend Regional Hospital provided a financial donation to Riley Elementary School that will benefit the school's library. As a result Riley is able to purchase books to go along with its anti-bullying curriculum. Riley already teaches the lessons, explained Riley Elementary School principal Joann Blevins, but there wasn't enough in the school's library fund to also purchase the books that go along with the curriculum. With the donation, however, Blevins said they will immediately make the purchase to receive the books as quickly as possible.
This week's Chamber of Commerce Coffee will be hosted by USD 428 Foundation, 201 S. Patton Road, at 9:30 a.m., Thursday. Ambassador in charge will be Jim Vopat with greeters Linda Jamison and Jan Westfall. Coffee, doughnuts and door prizes will be available.
Neuell G. Nicolet, 91, formerly of Great Bend, passed away Feb. 27 in Augusta. Born Oct. 2, 1922, in Great Bend, he was the son of the late Ed and Inez (Gaunt) Nicolet. In 1941, he graduated from Great Bend High School. He was a retired farmer.
