Chalk artistry portrays significance of 'Drawing Closer'

LARNED - Chalk artist and Bible teacher Randy Davis gives churchgoers a new meaning to the phrase "drawing closer." Davis is this year's featured speaker at the Larned Church of the Nazarene's springtime revival. He's not the "traditional" type of speaker for events like this, sponsors said, adding Davis brings something new and exciting to audiences.

Stand for persecuted Christians

I have been watching the efforts the American Center For Law and Justice (ACLJ) to get Pastor Saeed Abedini released from prison in Iran. This process has been going on since Pastor Saeed's arrest for being a Christian. He is a naturalized American citizen, yet the State Department and the Administration has done nothing to secure his release.

Isabella 'Issy' Nuss 1923 - 2013

Isabella "Issy" Nuss, 90, died March 21 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. She was born March 2, 1923, in Rush County, the daughter of Carl and Martha (Tammen) Schneider. She married Vernon L. Nuss June 16, 1946, at Great Bend. He died Dec. 27, 1992.

LARNED - Sherry Lynn Robinson, 38, died March 21 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital. She was born April 4, 1974, the daughter of Donald Robinson and Linda Anderson. She worked as a CNA/CMA at Pawnee Valley Hospital for many years, traveling to facilities through the All Staff agency.
