PRATT - Pauline Eva McManaman, 83, died March 3 at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt. Born Dec. 20, 1928 in Isabel, she was the daughter of Henry and Ella (Morisse) Lawrenz. On May 26, 1954 she married Basil "Bud" L. McManaman. He died Dec. 6, 2010. She was a homemaker.
ELLINWOOD - Deborah Lee Hanna, 49, died March 5 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born April 16, 1962 in Wichita, she was the daughter of Wayne E. Hanna and Marilyn E. Boerger Hanna. She was a graduate of Ransom High School. A resident of Barton County for the past 15 years, formerly of Ransom and Hugoton, she was a certified nurse's aide.

A free program on Digital Mammography will be offered at 1 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. Great Bend Regional Hospital staff will talk about their new full field digital mammography machine that shows great promise in the fight against breast cancer.
The annual celebration and meet-n-greet of Barton Athletics and the community will take place this Sunday, Sept. 21. Hosted by the Cougar Booster Club, the event will kick-off at 6 p.m. at Jack Kilby Square in downtown Great Bend with social interaction including free refreshments.
The Golden Belt Community Concert Association will present "Simply Sinatra" as its first concert of the season. The show features Steve Lippia, accompanied by a 10-piece big band, singing many of the songs made popular by Frank Sinatra. Lippia is noted for blending classic and contemporary styles in his music. The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone.
