Eagle Scout Tyler Koelsch
The Eagle Scout Court of Honor was bestowed upon Tyler John Koelsch on March 12 at the Eastridge Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, Neb. Tyler is the son of Rick Koelsch, formerly of Great Bend and the late Jane Koelsch. Grandparents are LeRoy and Jean Dringmann and June Koelsch, all of Great Bend. Tyler is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop #2 Cornhusker Council. His scoutmaster is Scott Connors.

Barton County Historical Society to host Volunteer Orientation - April 7
The Barton County Historical Museum and Village will conduct an Orientation Meeting at 1 p.m. on April 7 at the Village south of the river bridge on Highway 281. The meeting is for anyone in Barton County who seeks information about volunteer service at the museum. This meeting will help volunteers, new or returning, to become acquainted with life at the Village and to learn more about the new happenings and the many new displays at the museum.

Hurley retires
Terri Hurley's last day as public relations director at the Great Bend Public Library will be March 31. After 34-years of service to the library and the community Terri is retiring.

Barton County Historical Society
There are many 'untold stories' about Great Bend Army Air Field during its brief, but very active, existence during World War II. One of those stories involves six young women, assigned to GBAAF as WASPs or Women Airforce Service Pilots.
