Continuing their record setting season, the Sterling College Debate team successfully hosted the State Collegiate Championship Tournament on Feb. 18-19, and captured yet another state title. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Sterling Debate team has captured either the individual or team title in parliamentary debate. In addition, Emily Graham of Hutchinson, and Nolan Chaney of South Hutchinson, were named the top two speakers in the tournament.

A man reported an overturned truck on the highway on the curves west of Hoisington at 2:20 a.m. Thursday. Patrolmen thought they were looking for an injury accident, so Hoisington Emergency Medical Service was also dispatched. Nothing was found, so all curves in the county were checked by Ellinwood, Hoisington and BCSO units.
