Driver captured after pursuit

Cory A. Little, Great Bend, was arrested early Tuesday following a pursuit that started at NW 20 Ave. and NW 70 Road, and ended in the 3000 block of Broadway Ave. in Great Bend. The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. when a Barton County Sheriff's Office deputy attempted to stop the vehicle. After reaching speeding over 90 mph in the county, the driver reportedly ran stop signs and avoided tire spikes and was traveling 60 mph in town until the vehicle went into a ditch at 18th and Jackson. Miller preliminary hearing rescheduled

The preliminary hearing for the woman suspected of stealing funds from the now defunct Central Prairie Honor Flights program has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. on Feb. 7 in Barton County District Court. With no judge available on Jan. 3, the preliminary hearing for LaVeta Diane Miller could not take place as scheduled. Miller is charged with two counts of theft between $25,000 and $100,000, from Central Prairie RC&D in Great Bend, which administered the nonprofit program that provided World War II veterans with free trips to the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C ...

It's kind of sad being forced to watch the death struggle of these modern-day dinosaurs. Responsible parents should keep their kids from peering over the Plexiglas railing into the tar pits below to see the huge lumbering antediluvian beasts frenziedly dig themselves deeper into the sticky morass that is gay marriage. Great Bend High School Panther bowling results

The Great Bend Panther bowling squads made an early departure from town on Saturday morning as they traveled to The Alley in Wichita for the 8 team Andover Tournament. In girls action it was sophomore Allie Brodrick who led the way with her team high 560 series. Following close behind was sophomore Kylynn Keeler with a 533 series, senior Abby Rose with a 515 series and senior Addie Soukup with a 514 series.
