TIMKEN - Viola Marie Schwindt (Horyna) Roland, went to be with God who has a mansion for her in heaven. She was born March 16, 1925 at the extreme southwest edge of LaCrosse to Phillip and Antonia (Hoenig) Schwindt. Viola passed away at her Timken farm home on July 2, 2012.

A team of Rosewood Services Inc. employees raised nearly $1,500 during this summer's Barton County Relay For Life event, which was held June 8 at the Barton County courthouse square in downtown Great Bend. It was the first year that Rosewood formed a team, which was cause for special recognition by Barton County Relay For Life. ABILENE - Duckwall-ALCO Stores Inc. An amendment to the Articles of Incorporation was approved at the meeting. ALCO Stores also plans to change its ticker symbol on NASDAQ to "ALCS." The excitement of the six folks who signed up for an adult sewing class earlier this week is nearly indescribable.
