The launch of Rosewood Services Inc.'s latest social entrepreneurial venture blew in with the wind. Rosewood Winery was christened by way of an open house during a day of gale-force winds. That didn't prevent dozens of people from traveling to the country setting, located nine miles west of Great Bend, to participate in the evening event.
The Pilot Club of Great Bend recently brought to the area schools an award-winning program designed to educate the public on avoiding brain injuries.

The Busy Buzzer 4-H club had their installation of new officers meeting on Oct. 21. It was held at the Long's Pumpkin Patch. After the meeting the club enjoyed gourd launching and picking out pumpkins from the pumpkin field. The families of the 13 children of Alois and Hattie (Habiger) Debes gathered for dinner at the Hudson Community Center in Hudson recently for a reunion. The Wheatland Café catered a delicious meal. Activities included the taking of family pictures, looking at older family pictures from years ago and visiting. Prizes were given for the oldest and youngest family members present.
