MANHATTAN - Daniel Sams threw for 391 yards and Jake Waters passed for 249 as the two ended their spring competition on Saturday afternoon in the Purple/White game to replace Collin Klein as Kansas State's quarterback.
LARNED - Carl P. DeCoudres, 91, died April 26 at his home in Larned. He was born Dec. 29, 1921, at Fort Scott, to Louis W. and Madge Ethel Clayton DeCoudres. A resident of Larned since 1951, he was a retired welder.
WICHITA - Larry Eugene Banks, 73, died April 25 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wichita. He was born Dec. 22, 1939, at Lyons, the son of William F. and Esther Mae Lineback Banks. He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1955. He married Lou Bowling. They later divorced. A Wichita resident, he formerly lived in Garland, Texas, Ellinwood, Beaufort, S.C., and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

FORT DAVIS, Texas - Charles Bruce Colvin, 69, died April 23 at Lubbock, Texas. He was born July 10, 1943, at Great Bend, the son of William Bear and Norma Lee Harold Colvin. His stepfather was W.M. Colvin.
HUTCHINSON - Victor W. Krebaum, 75, died April 25. He was born Sept. 11, 1937, at Great Bend, the son of Raymond A. and Mable M. Ward Krebaum. He graduated from Great Bend High School, and attended Hutchinson Community College and the University of Kansas. On Dec. 20, 1959, he married Reita Jane Krey, living in Houston and Ft. Worth, Texas, before returning to Kansas in 1962. Following his marriage, he began a successful career of nearly 50 years as an insurance agent, receiving numerous awards, retiring in 2009.
