Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111, Great Bend, will have a St. Patrick's Day dance with the Flatland Band, from 8:30-11:30 p.m. Saturday at the Post, 504 Washington St. Tickets are $7. This is a men's auxiliary fundraiser for the Fort Dance Soldiers Home. The dance is open to VFW members and guests.

It's kind of sad being forced to watch the death struggle of these modern-day dinosaurs. Responsible parents should keep their kids from peering over the Plexiglas railing into the tar pits below to see the huge lumbering antediluvian beasts frenziedly dig themselves deeper into the sticky morass that is gay marriage. The Great Bend Panther bowling squads made an early departure from town on Saturday morning as they traveled to The Alley in Wichita for the 8 team Andover Tournament. In girls action it was sophomore Allie Brodrick who led the way with her team high 560 series. Following close behind was sophomore Kylynn Keeler with a 533 series, senior Abby Rose with a 515 series and senior Addie Soukup with a 514 series. The Lady Panthers finished in fourth place as a team. Brodrick's 560 series earned her a 5th place finish, Keeler's series earned her an 8th ...
