The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will discuss the creation of a Fire Science certificate program during its September study session, set for 4 p.m. Thursday in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building. Other items on the agenda include a change in the Home Health Aide course required for a Licensed Practical Nurse certificate, and proposed changes to the board policy manual. Dean of Administration Mark Dean will present the financial statement, and will talk about "Higher One."
WICHITA - Venita E. Moore, 89, died Aug. 26 at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita. Born Sept. 11, 1921 in Rush County, she was the daughter of E.M. and Mollie Ernst Moore. She graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1939, and attended Fort Hays Kansas State College. A resident of Wichita for 36 1/2 years, coming from Dallas, Texas, she was employed for several years by Federal Land Bank, working in their LaCrosse, Oberlin and Larned offices. She then worked for an oil company in Great Bend, transferring to their San Antonio, Texas office.
