Cory A. Little, Great Bend, was arrested early Tuesday following a pursuit that started at NW 20 Ave. and NW 70 Road, and ended in the 3000 block of Broadway Ave. in Great Bend. The preliminary hearing for the woman suspected of stealing funds from the now defunct Central Prairie Honor Flights program has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. on Feb. 7 in Barton County District Court. With no judge available on Jan. 3, the preliminary hearing for LaVeta Diane Miller could not take place as scheduled. Miller is charged with two counts of theft between $25,000 and $100,000, from Central Prairie RC&D in Great Bend, which administered the nonprofit program that provided World War II veterans with free trips to the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C ...
ELLSWORTH - An Ellsworth woman was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after the sport utility vehicle she was driving was rear-ended by a pickup on K-156 and Kunkle Drive in Ellsworth.
The Barton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rape that allegedly occurred over the weekend in a vehicle outside the bar at 206 North U.S. 281, north of Great Bend.
