City Band concerts

The Great Bend City Band will be performing at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday night at the city band shell. A special 16 piece jazz band concert will be presented at 8:15 p.m. Friday, at the band shell. Twelve classic jazz band selections will be presented. In case of inclement weather, these concerts will be moved indoors to the Crest Theatre.

No Amendment Will Save Senate Immigration Bill; S. 744 Must Not Pass

To summarize the Senate immigration bill as it heads toward a final vote: illegal immigrants, foreign-born workers, the Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic lobby get everything. Not even crumbs are tossed to American citizens.
