Doris Ann (Harms) Sheridan 1942 - 2012

EDNA - Doris Sheridan, 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Edna on Aug. 6. Doris was born Nov. 19, 1942, to Ralph Jack and Lottie Urbanovich Harms in Ellsworth. She was a longtime Ellsworth County resident and a 1960 graduate of Geneseo High School. On May 28, 1988 she married William 'Bill' Sheridan in Ellsworth. Doris owned her own beautician business, worked as a bookkeeper at the Lorraine State Bank and Lorraine Grain and Fuel Company and was a Gas Processing Operator for Northern Natural Gas and Tejas Gas Companies.

Champion grappler to host wrestling clinic in Great Bend

The Great Bend Kid Wrestling Club will be hosting a guest coach on Wednesday February 18th. Tyler Caldwell will be in the wrestling room working with young athletes participating in wrestling. Tyler is a 4-time Kansas State Champion from Goddard high school. Tyler went on to wrestler for the University of Oklahoma then transferred the Oklahoma State University. During his reign as a top collegiate wrestler Tyler compiled 126 victories. He was a four time Division 1 All-American, two time finalist. Great Bend High School Bowling results

On Tuesday the Great Bend Panthers traveled to Garden City for a triangular meet with Garden City and Holcomb. The Great Bend girls won the competition by rolling a team series of 2223 and earned six of the possible 11 points. The girls were led in scoring by sophomore Allie Brodrick's 577 series which earned her a 3rd place medal in the contest. Court Can Save Millions from Illegal Obamacare Taxes

The full-court press is on from every organ of enlightened liberal opinion: the Supreme Court must not decide this term's big Obamacare case, King v. Burwell, on the actual legal merits, which are a slam-dunk for the plaintiffs. Instead, supporters of the government want the case decided on the consequences of the Court stopping the flow of illegal subsidies. And they want to ignore the fact that stopping the subsidies will actually free millions of people in opt-out states from the individual and employer mandates. They only want to talk about people who would lose subsidies.
