Fund established for Booth family

A fund has been established at Landmark National Bank in Great Bend for members of the Ryan Booth family, who were involved in roll-over accident in Russell County on Sunday. The driver of the vehicle, Ryan Booth, 28, of Great Bend, was severely injured and flown from the scene via air ambulance to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, where he is in critical condition with a broken neck and severe head injuries. Passengers 28-year-old Emma Booth, 7-year-old Aara Schuman, 5-year-old Alissa Booth, and 4-year-old Joane Booth were also injured in the accident. BCC budget on agenda

Barton enrollments continue to climb

Barton Community College spring enrollment increased more than 9 percent in the past year, according to information from the Kansas Board of Regents. Fall enrollment grew by 5 percent, compared to the previous year.

Extension Programs Focus on Health and Wellness

It is fairly common that my educational programs and workshops emphasize a common theme of health and wellness. The annual Walk Kansas program is just around the corner, so it is time to start rounding up your team members for that successful program. Packets are ready for team captains to pick up at our office and the Great Bend Recreation Commission. I also plan to deliver some packets to the recreation commissions in Hoisington and Ellinwood.
