Doris A. Starkey, 92, died Wednesday at Ellinwood District Hospital. Survivors and arrangements will be announced by Kimple Funeral Home in Ellinwood.
A late-morning fire damaged the rural Great Bend residence of Lynn and Nancy Fryberger, 49 NW 48 Road.

Kathleen Kimpler, 85, died Nov. 15 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 8, 1926 in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of George Peter and Mary Ann (Kramer) Kimpler. A resident of Great bend since 1975, coming from Ellinwood, she was a principal and teacher in the Wichita and Dodge City Diocese Catholic Schools for 34 years.

LARNED - Jordaan Memorial Library will be closed part of next week. The boiler is being replaced and the library has been without heat for the last week and a half. The building has gotten progressively colder. The library will reopen when the boiler has been replaced.

ELLINWOOD - Lincoln Paul Tschopp, 78, died Aug. 17, at his home in Ellinwood. Born on Feb. 12, 1936, in Winfield, he was the son of Frederick and Cleoa (Pishney) Tschopp of Udall. He graduated as the first four sport letterman from Udall High School and holds degrees from both BCCC and Friends University in Wichita. After the 1955 Udall tornado destroyed his hometown, Paul enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Special Weapons Command. On April 4, 1975, he married Lillian Milberger in Wichita.
