WICHITA - Maxton Foster Burkey, two months, died May 26 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. He was born March 31, 2011 at Wichita. His parents are Kevin and Kelci (Boxberger) Burkey of Wichita. Although his life was cheated in time, he immensely impacted the lives of his loving family. Always squirming, he enjoyed baths, having his hair brushed, and snuggling with his mommy and daddy. He was a very happy, content baby of God.

HOISINGTON - Velma H. McMillin, 90, died Dec. 4 at Via Christi Hospital, St. Francis, in Wichita. Born Jan. 20, 1924, in Melvern, she was the daughter of Oscar and Hazel (Goldsmith) Beck. On Nov. 30, 1940, she married H.D. McMillin in Ottawa. He died July 23, 1993. A resident of Hoisington since 1940, she worked as a florist for many years and she was also the co-owner of Trinkets and Treasures, an antique shop in Hoisington. She was an avid sports fan cheering for the Chiefs, Kansas University and the Green Bay Packers.
