Lois Ilene Hoffman 1925 - 2011
HOISINGTON - Lois Ilene Hoffman, 85, died Feb. 28 at Santa Fe Nursing Home in Weatherford, Texas. She was born July 11, 1925 in Norton. She was the daughter of Lovell Dodd and Pansy (Montgomery) Clinton. On Aug. 15, 1945 she married George W. Hoffman in Hoisington. He died June 1, 1986. A former longtime resident of Hoisington, she was a retired nurses aid working at Clara Barton hospital for over 30 years.
Donald P. “Don” Wood 1927 - 2011
BISON – Donald P. "Don" Wood, 83, died March 1 at the Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley. Born Oct. 3, 1927 in Denver, Colo., he was the son of Martin and Melinda (Sanders) Wood. A 34 year resident of Bison, moving from Larned, he worked in the dry cleaning business for more than 20 years and was employed by Essex in Hoisington for 13 years before his retirement. On July 16, 1977 he married Erma (Ficken) Shank at the United Methodist Church in Bison.

Presbyterian Women’s Rummage Sale to be held Saturday
Presbyterian Women of Great Bend will hold their annual Rummage Sale on Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon, in the church Fellowship Hall at 24th and Washington. Funds raised by the rummage sale are contributed by Presbyterian Women to local charities and service organizations in Barton County, as well as to national and worldwide missions.
