Kelly Holden Benker, 24, died Nov. 19 in Barton County. Born April 6, 1988 in Kingman, he was the son of Keith Wayne and Susan Lynn (Bojan) Benker. A resident of Great Bend since 1993, coming from Kingman, he was an electrician.
DENVER, Colo. - Sylvia Ann Welch, 79, died Nov. 14 at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colo. Born July 18, 1933 in Hoisington, she was the daughter of J. David and Esther (Ehrlich) Marmie. On May 17, 1954, she married Charles E. Welch in Great Bend. They later divorced. A resident of Denver, Colo. since 1954, coming from Great Bend, she was employed by J.C. Penney, May D & F, Circuit City, Mountain Bell and owned and operated a Dolly Madison Creamery in the 1970s.

HOISINGTON - Clara Barton Hospital Foundation will receive $140,000 in Kansas tax credits for the tax years 2012 and 2013 through the Kansas Community Service Tax Credit Program.
