The Great Bend Garden Club held a tour of gardens for its May meeting. The tour began on the backyard patio of Bonnie Sarff where light refreshments were served by Bonnie, Teresa Bachand, and Fern Tompkins. Then nineteen members and two guests, Darlene McDorman and Linda Ludes, visited and enjoyed the spring flower gardens of Bonnie, Mary Kummer, Alice Young, Delores Baker, and Delores Grose.
Students attending area high schools and community colleges have been awarded scholarships by Washburn University. Students, who were able to attend, were recognized for their achievements at a recent banquet.
