ELLINWOOD - Barbara J. Dunn, 77, died Friday Sept. 6, 2013, at her home in Ellinwood. She was born July 24, 1936 at Kingsport, Tenn., the daughter of Leonard and Louise (Frusher) Stairett. She was a resident of Ellinwood for nine years. On Sept. 26, 1954, she married Thomas Jack Dunn in Jetmore.

​BCC trustees look at impact of state funding

The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will learn about state funding issues that may impact the college during the September study session, set for 4 p.m. Thursday at the Seminar Room, F-30 of the Fine Arts Building. There will be reports on college video marketing, the college website redesign and a draft of the community report. Dean Mark Dean will distribute copies of the latest financial statement at the meeting.

Summer Street Stroll Farmers Market ends Thursday

This is the final week for the 2013 Summer Street Stroll Farmers Market and free movies in the Barton County courthouse square. Tillotson's return from Romania

ELLINWOOD - Ellinwood residents Scott, Debbie and Chase Tillotson returned on Aug. 27 from a Christian Family Conference in Romania. The conference was hosted by Star of Hope Romania for families who care for a child with disabilities. The Tillotson family was supported by friends, family and churches across the state of Kansas, making it possible to make the journey from Kansas to Romania. Each of the three family members played a major role in the conference.
