PRATT - Larned High School's returning Class 4A state qualifier Kaiden Reed placed runner-up in the Pratt Wrestling Tournament. Reed lost 1-0 to Buhler's Jon Yates in the 285-pound division finals. Reed won two of three matches.

LARNED - Joe Dudley Hicks, 64, died Dec. 9 at his home, Larned. He was born Sept. 19, 1949 in Great Bend, the son of Burl Dudley and Eunice Lucille Shuss Hicks. A lifetime area resident he was a Registered Nurse at the Larned State Hospital for 30 years retiring in 2001.

Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker music remains, masterfully adapted by Boston composer, Rick Kuethe, a native of Omaha, Neb.
