HOISINGTON -D.E.A.R. Day is April 12. The acronym stands for Drop Everything And Read. The Hoisington Middle School KAYs will be sponsoring a book fair at the Hoisington Activity Center, 1200 Susank Rd., to celebrate the day. League of Women Voters of Great Bend will hold the monthly meeting on Tuesday at at Montana Mike's in the north room. Lunch will be from the menu and can be their "quick serve" menu.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack recently announced $19.7 million of financial and technical assistance to help communities rebuild and repair damages caused by flooding, drought, and other natural disasters.
