The Central Kansas Partnership has formed a Suicide Prevention Task Force that will have its organizational meeting at 11 a.m. on Monday, at Barton County Health Department WIC Conference Room. The group will meet to discuss suicide prevention goals and possible strategies to increase awareness of signs of suicide and what community members can do. Anyone who is interested is invited to attend.

HUTCHINSON - Billie Louise Messick Williams, 83, died Aug. 10, at Hester Care Center. Born Dec. 27, 1930, in Winfield, she was the daughter of Lee and Sally LeRoy True. She was a 1956 graduate of Raymond High School. On Aug. 27, 1947, she married Donald F. "Pete" Messick in Tribune. He died Sept. 18, 1994. Then on Sept. 12, 1998, she married Robert Stanley Williams in Hutchinson. He died Aug. 10, 2013.
CHASE - Donald Mark Oberle Sr., 66, passed away Aug. 11, at his home in Chase. Born July 3, 1948, in Great Bend, he was the son of George J. and Florentine L. (Kimpler) Oberle. A lifelong resident of Chase, he was a pipe-liner in the petroleum industry. On Dec. 23, 2002, he married Debbie (Gilley) in Great Bend. She survives of the home.
This week's Chamber of Commerce Coffee will be hosted by the First Methodist Church at 9:30 a.m., Thursday. Host will be Nancy Sundahl with greeters Cindy Parr and Candace Moeder. Coffee, refreshments and door prizes will be available.
