Sharon Manning and Tammy Cloninger of Great Bend and Larned, have committed to being Champions for WorkWell KS. Manning and Cloninger and Champions from nine other Kansas communities recently completed the first-ever WorkWellKS Statewide Leadership Training Program. Manning and Cloninger will now begin working with and supporting local business leaders to support and promote community health starting with their worksites.

WICHITA - Cecilia "Cec" McClure died Dec. 21 at Hutchinson Hospice House after a brave battle with kidney failure. Born July 17, 1932 in Odin, she was the youngest child of William and Hattie (Frenzl) Klug of Odin. She married Larry McClure in 1961 and was a long-time resident of Wichita. She worked for Edminston Oil company for 22 years and 16 years at Wesley Medical Center where she retired at age 75. She said working kept her young and involved in life. ODIN - Margie Lynn Wondra, 64, died Dec. 22 at Evergreen Community of Johnson County in Olathe. Born Jan. 30, 1947 in Ellsworth, she was the daughter of Laborious (Bob) and Amelia (Kraft) Miller. A long-time resident of Barton County, she graduated from Dorrance High School and attended the Dominican School of Nursing in Great Bend. On Aug. 21, 1971 she married Ambrose Wondra in Great Bend. HUTCHINSON - Emanuel T. "Tim" Sauber, 79, died Dec. 22 at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born April 12, 1932, in Raymond, the son of Peter M. and Frances (Hoffman) Sauber. He was a 1950 graduate of Ellinwood High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. On May 18, 1957, he married Bettie A. Anderson at St. Joseph Church in Ellinwood. She survives. Emanuel retired from Cessna after 34 years as an industrial engineer and then worked for Trinity Junior and Senior High School for 20 years. Emanuel loved golfing, fishing and working on his lawn.
